Room 5 have been learning a song called Tadpole Blues. We decided it would be fun to make our own illustrations and make a recording of the song. We hope you enjoy it...

FUN AT DISCOVERY
I was lucky enough to be dressed up today during discovery. Some of the children made paper shoes, a paper crown and a paper necklace and bracelet. Very creative!

FUN WITH CHALK
During maths today some of the children wrote fractions and equations outside with chalk. They are a little tricky to see but they did a great job!
Craig Smith
Yesterday the children watched Craig Smith perform many of his songs. The favourite by far was The Wonkey Donkey! Some children were lucky enough to help with a puppet and Craig signed lots of books brought in by children. His new books is Eating and it was very funny!

Slice of Heaven
We will be learning the song 'Slice of Heaven' for our showcase. I have put the lyrics on the blog under the song tab so you can learn it at home too.
POETRY
Congratulations to our first place winner Arabella and our second place winner Lachie. I was very proud of everyone for being able to recite a poem in front of a large audience, for some this was a challenging task and it was great to see children overcome those butterflies (or moths in some cases).

SPCA
The SPCA visited today with Bugsy and two amazingly friendly and cute guinea pigs. They educated the children about what the SPCA does and the 5 important things animals need:
Love
Food and water
Exercise
Shelter
Vet care
The children learnt that animals have feelings just like we do and when you have an animal it becomes part of your family.
They all got to pat Bugsy and the guinea pigs. We were so lucky to have the SPCA visit. They do amazing things for animals!

Imagination Station
On our trip the children had a great time building with the lego. The pit was huge, many children had never seen so much lego in one place. They used a programme called Lego Digital Design to build a house and make changes to it.

New Furniture
All of our new furniture has arrived and it is fantastic. It's bright and colourful and there are a range of shapes, sizes and levels for the children to choose from. Each child has their own cubbyhole (remaining 4 on their way) to store their belongings.

BOAT MAKING
Thank you to Lily and her family for providing the materials for the class to make their own boat. The children had so much fun! Hopefully they will get a chance to float their boat during the holidays.
